This is the story of QALO Ring. Ted Baker and KC Holiday are responsible for re-inventing the wedding ring, and they made more than $25M dollars from it. Say hello to Ted & Casey - the two guys responsible for reinventing the wedding ring. Everything starts back in Los Angeles in 2012. The guys are both working dead end restaurant jobs trying to make it in Hollywood. Until one day, Casey notices something off about Ted - he’s not wearing his wedding ring. Is he a bad husband - a playboy perhaps? Turns out… Ted just can’t stand wearing his wedding ring while doing the dishes. Casey realizes he has the same problem and right then, the business is born. They’re gonna start QALO Ring - a cheap silicone band that you can wear INSTEAD of your wedding ring. But they have no experience in manufacturing… So for the next 6 months, they devote their lives to designing a prototype & working with a supplier. When the first order of 50,000 rings hits their doorstep, they realize something horrible… The rings are defective. Out of shape and not cut properly. But, they don’t give up - they decide to fix all 50,000 rings with a pair of eyebrow scissors They launch a few weeks later and the brand goes VIRAL when NFL quarterback Andy Dalton talks about the ring on an episode of Hard Knocks. They take the company to $25M - and is now valued at [redacted] dollars. QALO is proof that a million dollar business idea might be right at your fingertips.
